The Environmental Center for Arabic Towns Participates in the Second Gulf Conference & Exhibition on Environment & Sustainability
The Environmental Center for Arab Towns participated in the Second Gulf Conference & Exhibition on Environment & Sustainability which was held in the period between 16-19 February 2009 under the title of "Environmental Impact Assessment, Risk & Crisis Management" in Crown Plaza Hotel, State of Kuwait.
Dr. Radhiya Al Hashimi - Director of Environmental Center for Arab Towns- presented a lecture titled "The Role of the Environmental Center for Arab Towns in the protection of regional environment," where the lecture reviewed the initiatives, programs and future plans, the centre is seeking to implement for assisting the improvement of the Arab Cities environment. The Center also participated in the exhibition accompanying the conference where booklets, brochures, and CD-ROMs where distributed as part of the activities, as well as communicating with the visitors and other exhibitors in order to demonstrate the objectives and programs of the centre.
The participants of the conference and exhibition consisted of a large number of Arab and Gulf Arab scientists and specialized researchers, besides companies from the private and public sectors. The managing organizer of the event was the "National Company for Environmental Services", in cooperation with the Kuwait Foundation for Scientific Progress, as well as the Regional Organization for the Protection of the Marine Environment.
The objective of this meeting was to follow up the latest developments in the field of environment and related research activities conducted by universities and research centers, in addition to the role of the private sectors, and non-profitable organizations serving the environmental issues.
