Information Management & Research Unit

1. Databank Sub-Unit

   1. Coordinate with ATO members to collect environmental data and standards used in different Arab cities.

   2. Prepare information on the environmental rules & regulation and risk assessment & evaluation techniques adopted across different cities worldwide.

   3. Provide data on environmental monitoring programs available in the Arab towns.

   4. Link the environmental information collected with the GIS database.

2. Studies & Research Sub-Unit

   1. Study the different aspects of the nature and urban environments in Arab towns.

   2. Conduct research to identify and explore environmental concerns and take the necessary measures to address them.

   3. Support and encourage environmental research & studies.

   4. Provide environmental consultation services and technical expertise to different Arab towns.

3. Environmental Library & Publications Sub-Unit

   1. Establish a specialized environmental library to include books, documents, manuscripts, illustrations related to the environmental affairs. The proposed library will also issue books and periodic reports on different environmental fields that can also be retrieved from our web site.

   2. Create a website for the Center containing environmental information, which can be easily accessible by all members. With the use of an advanced technology, members will also be able to request for detailed accurate information with the possibility of the data analysis in a specific model.

Objective of Training & Awareness Unit

1. Public Awareness Sub-Unit

   1. Conduct seminars, conferences and workshops on a variety of environmental topics, which concern Arab cities.

   2. Encourage and promote environmental awareness campaigns among societies in Arab towns.

2. Training & Education Sub-Unit

   1. Prepare, execute, evaluate and develop specialized educational programs and training sessions; and discuss different means of collaborating with educational institutions, environmental agencies and other organizations.

   2. Conduct seminars and training courses for schools and universities on topics related to environmental issues.
